Hillary White is an artist who experiments in almost every medium, although her forte is arguably her paintings. Though she has an extensive body of work, my favorite of hers is undoubtedly the massive series entitled Pop-Reinterpretation. In it she takes classic works of art and interprets them through the canvas of modern day pop-culture. As you can imagine, the masterworks which she “updates” are no longer safe from pop-icons such as H.R. Giger, Superman, The Muppets, Daft Punk, Freddy Kruger, and a whole host of heroes and villains which would take me forever to mention. I love the way she renders each old classic, and the results are often sidesplittingly hilarious. See some below, and visit her website for more; prints are also available over at Society 6. via
