Mixing their love for film and art, Britain’s 5 Reel Film offers screenings of cinema’s best, coupled with extremely limited editions of art. Following up an amazing collaboration with Joe Wilson for Trainspotting, the group has now teamed with Matthew Woodson (Ghostco) to pay tribute to Chan-wook Park’s Oldboy. Already being remade for US audiences by Spike Lee, the original film staring Min-sik Choi is one of the darkest, most perverse tales ever told, but presented with such poignancy and dare I say, an equally twisted sense of hope.

For his poster, artist Ghostco has has chosen one of the film’s most powerful moments, the iconic Oh Dae-su eating a live octopus. It’s a scene that says so much, as Oh Dae-su has just been freed from captivity and the scene resonates as a brutal act of vengeance as well as a metaphorical exchange of life and rejuvenation.

The poster will first be available two weeks from now at a screening of the film on Sunday, June 30th, but will be available online to everyone on Wednesday, July 3rd at 8 PM GMT at the 5 Reel Film Big Cartel.

Check out more work from Ghostco and visit 5 Reel Film to learn more about them or buy tickets to the screening.
