John Reuss is a self taught artist from Denmark who likes to focus his gaze where “inner world, where thought, emotion and raw cognition defines not only the figures, but also the space they inhabit.” In choosing such intangible worlds to depict, Reuss builds his work on layered contrasts which are created by the nuanced layering of concepts, techniques and colors. As such, the results are hauntingly beautiful and delicate.
