At the end of last year, Ian MacEwan of Quenched Consciousness (a Moebius tribute blog) held a contest. In it, anyone was invited to “remake” a single panel from the Jodorowsky/Moebius comic The Incal. The contest naturally spawned tons of great art, which caught the attention of Floating World Comics in Portland, Oregon. Now, starting on February 7, the comic book shop is hosting an exhibit called As Above So Below, featuring over 20 artists who took part in the contest (including the winners) with digital prints, a limited catalog and a few original drawings on display and for sale! If you live in the area, this is obviously a must, but if you can’t I’ve posted the top finalists down below with a preview of some of the art which will be on display.
