Suspiria 2018 poster Luca GuadagninoThe two greatest horror films of all time are remakes. The Thing, and The Fly. Though we’ve been flooded with misguided remakes and reboots, I stand firm on the belief that the right remakes aren’t inherently a bad thing. And this Suspiria remake might be the proof.

Look, I love Argento’s Suspiria as much as anyone else, but to me, it’s not above a good redo. Like Argento, director Luca Guadagnino has a singular voice of his own. He isn’t gonna sleep on this film, and he ain’t going to ape Argento. From the looks of this trailer, he’s created his own movie, and it’s just shot up to one of this year’s most anticipated. There’s too much talent behind and in front of the camera to not get excited about this.

Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth and Chloe Moretz lead the cast, along with original cast member, Jessica Harper.

Suspiria drops in November, check out the Thom Yorke-scored trailer down below.
