silence_trailer-2Martin Scorsese’s 28-year-old passion project finally has a trailer. Called Silence, the film is an adaptation of Shusaku Endo’s novel of the same name, chronicling two Jesuit missionaries as they search for their mentor. The struggle towards their faith is both inward and outward, as they struggle with their convictions and a brutal environment in which they are forbidden.

Scorsese is frankly a master, and this looks like a beautifully intense film that will dissect faith and its very nature.

Silence hits theatres in December.
