After playing hide and seek with the internet, Radiohead’s returned with a brand new single and video which playfully remakes The Wicker Man. Directed by Chris Hopewell, the video for “Burn the Witch” plays out in stop motion, and features and investigator who is lulled into a “model village” with insidious intentions. If you know the film it’s riffing off of, the reveal is still wonderfully executed and darkly comic.
The track itself is a nice return to the band’s more pop-formatted stylings, still very cinematic, but not as tearfully dour or monotone as the niche they’ve slowly carved out. via
