Goni Montes began working as a scientific illustrator but now mostly does editorial work. Fittingly, his pieces deal with some pretty deep topics, and the one thing that threads through all of his work is a dynamic sense of hyperrealism. Whether or not his illustrations are “grounded” or not, there’s always a nice sense of fantasy at play, which works a bit to help us reframe our perceptions of the world around us. See more herevia
