It can be very hard to recover from a bad break, whether it be unfortunate circumstances or a long fight with addiction, and it’s this struggle that A New High explores with sobering clarity. The new doc focuses on an ex-Army ranger and his unique recovery outreach, one that takes ex-addicts and trains them for a climb of Mt. Rainier. With that premise, you can already imagine the rich metaphor, and directors Scott Scarpulla and Samuel Miron don’t shy away when it comes to the film’s dizzying implications.
To celebrate the film’s release, we’ve got a clip to share, introducing some of its characters and their first day of training.
A New High is available now on iTunes/VOD now, and you can read our glowing review HERE.
