Climax movie Gaspar Noe A24 posterPsychedelic horror dance party!? Uh, I don’t need to hear anything else, I’m sold. The aforementioned is the raw description of provocateur Gaspar Noe’s latest film, Climax. The film boasts a single-setting story that explores a dance troupe’s descent into madness, and coming from Noe, we can expect visual splendor and excess in equal measure.

Climax previously made waves at Cannes, where it was almost universally loved, and now, A24 is bringing the insanity stateside. Centering on dancer/actress Sofia Boutella, this promises to be one of the year’s most original works.

No release date yet, but the film is set for this year – stay tuned for more…

Official synopsis: The troupe begins an all-night celebration that turns nightmarish as the dancers discover they’ve been pounding cups of sangria laced with potent LSD. Tracking their journey from jubilation to chaos and full-fledged anarchy, Noé observes crushes, rivalries, and violence amid a collective psychedelic meltdown.
