The last few chapters in the Resident Evil film series have threatened to be “the last one”, but it looks like they might really pull the plug this time. Largely disowned by the video game community but loved by nerds like me, the Resident Evil film series has really morphed into its own thing – unabashedly silly, completely absurd and defiant in the face of physics.
If there’s one thing you can’t argue about, it’s that throughout it all, Milla Jovovich has really owned the character of Alice, giving the series its heart and endearing charm. I agree that it’s time to put this thing to bed, but I’ll gladly watch this last one, and have enjoyed all of them so far, not matter how bad they are!
